Having never met her grandfather, the artist comes to know him through fragments of photographs and archival records. Tracing his life under Japanese colonial rule and wartime mobilization, the film uses reversed images, revisited sites, and bodily movement to explore memory and history as something that emerges between absence and presence, front and back.
